Description
Kiss & Bite Press is a Plymouth-based letterpress studio run by typographer & designer Alan Qualtrough. We offer workshops and a range of print products. The Kiss & Bite Press is reviving letterpress printing in Plymouth and will be producing traditional and contemporary printed work.
As part of our 2017 programme we will be running 'Stand Up & Be Printed' workshops during which you can devise and print political posters.
The studio is run by typographer, designer, printer & former newspaper editor Alan Qualtrough. Please message us to express interest and for info.
In letterpress a ‘kiss’ is when the ink lightly touches the paper and a ‘bite’ is a deep impression.

We're excited that Ocean Studios will be Kiss & Bite's new home from the autumn as part of a brilliant new artists' initiative. We've been up to lots the last few months in terms of exhibitions, workshops, talks and performance events, with other artists in the city and across the world. More pictures to follow soon!
Just got sight of the lovely leaflets for HOMEGROWN Ocean Studios. Looking forward to sharing our collaboration with fine artist Oona Wagstaff down there next week. Our exhibition is on April 5-9.

5 Week Introduction To Letterpress Typesetting and Printing (April 2017) — Courses — Plymouth College of Art
There's a couple of places left on a five week short course I'm leading on typesetting and letterpress printing at Plymouth College of Art - PCA. It's on a Tuesday evening (18:00-21:00) and runs from April 25 to May 23 and is £120—all materials included. It would be good to see any budding letterpress practitioners. Here's the link..

We had a great time Native Makers Winter Market 2016 this weekend! Thank you to the brilliant organisers – Emily and Rosie – and everyone who came to say hello and have a go on the Adana press. We're excited about all the interest shown in the 'Stand Up and Be Printed' workshops we'll be launching in early 2017.
