I'd been wanting to go camping (and have another Graham's ice-cream) all summer, though after the recent drop in temperature, I'd kind of put both on the backburner until next year. But this week, I unexpectedly got invited to a party in Strangford, and on Saturday morning I found myself heading north, subtly hinting to my driving companion that the best ice-cream in Northern Ireland was only a short detour away. He thankfully agreed and even took us back for another on the way home today. Aside from ice-cream, the weekend was spent enjoying leisurely beach walks, incredible homemade food and desserts, lots of wine, making new friends, having heated discussions with said new friends, offending new friends, relishing a much needed internet detox, gazing at the stars and spending a blissful night in a tent ⛺️ En route back to Dublin and feeling inspired to summit Slieve Donard and brave an outdoor swim before the end of September... #LastOfTheSummerWine #RoadTrip #IrishRoadTrip...

Graham's has been my favourite ice-cream since I was nine years old. Well worth a visit (get the original vanilla on the largest cone they have), and best enjoyed after summiting Slieve Donard or braving a dip in one of the little rock swimming pools in Donard Park ⛰The Mournes, Newcastle and Silent Valley are amongst the most underrated yet stunningly scenic places in #Ireland to visit- and I'd give pretty much anything to be back there today: paddling in the sea, eating chips on the promenade and subsequently trying not to throw them back up on the Waltzer (instead of squeezing my hand-knitted, red apple stressball aggressively whilst sweating profusely in work 🙃). @discovernorthernireland @discoverni #Summer #Hiking #INeedIceCream #ImMelting #TreatYoSelf
