Stepping inside the gym doesn't always guarantee results... For many people the gym is an opportunity to clear their heads, a stress reliever or even a chance to catch up with their mates. And contrary to many peoples beliefs there is nothing wrong with being a "social trainer" Unfortunately when you have a specific goal whether it be fat loss or lean muscle gain, being a weekend warrior and not looking after your diet will get you nowhere. From the turn of the year Daryl has took it upon himself to change his whole outlook on training and diet. His mindsest change has been incredible and his desire to be pushed even harder and learn more about nutrition has ensured he gets the most out of every gym session and every meal he cooks. Learning about macronutrients and focusing on training his weak areas more has resulted in this unreal 8 week transformation where he has lost an amazing 25lb. The best thing is Daryl hasn't had to starve himself or run himself into the ground. Even better everything he has done these 8 weeks he will be able to carry on. Being better educated with a sustainable approach means he can adapt his approach as his body continues to progress. This photo will more than likely be a photo for our 8 week transformation competition but for now Daryl deserves all the praise he can get for his outstanding effort. Another big 8 weeks ahead. Well done mate!

Its Pancake Tuesday!!! And this post has absolutely nothing to do with eating pancakes in any way at all.... Instead let's talk about legs, and more specifically new pieces of leg equipment we have just acquired for the gym. New to One2One Fitness we have upgraded our leg press and added 2 lovely pin loaded machines in the lying leg curl and seated leg extension. (We have also added a commercial preacher curl bench, but who cares about growing their biceps...) Clients if this post hasn't already made you feel a bit queasy you don't half realise what we have in store. Enjoy your pancakes... leg day is just around the corner!

WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE UPDATE: We are 4 Weeks into our challenge and so far the results have been great. 17 people participating with a total of 120lb lost between them all. (Average of 7lb per client) Its tight up at the top with Lowry Stewart currently leading the way with 16lb Ian Tolerton, Scott Taylor and Daryl Irwin are all hot on his tail! 4 weeks to go and motivation is still high!

Lunch today was slow cooked chicken, garlic, peppers and mushrooms served in a Mediterranean wrap and some light sweet chilli philadelphia. Roughly 500kcals with 50g protein. Very very tasty. Give it a blast!

The city of Lisburn athletics club have been coming up over the last year to get put through their paces. There really are some tremendous young athletes in the group, and as much as we give them a hard time, they aren't a bad bunch at all. Here is a quick snippet of them doing a very pleasant superset. Trust me the ones on the ground are having a well deserved rest. At One2One Fitness we have a massive amount of space with 2 fully equipped rooms perfectly suitable for torture. So any teams or groups looking to give their members a hard hours work, send us a private mail for more info.

First week of the new year complete but next week the real fun starts! Its a good job we took it easy this week!!! We have decided to kick off our pledge to be more active on FB in style with this unbelievable transformation from Kelly Thompson! It just shows what sensible training and dieting can do over a prolonged period of time. No drastic crash diets or stupid fads were used to achieve these results and Kelly definitely had plenty of flexibility and time to enjoy herself during this process. Over two and a half stone lost, serious strength gained and I think everyone who sees this will agree she looks amazing. (so dont be afraid to leave a like and a nice comment of support ;) ) Amazing results Kelly! Well done
