Cafe, seasonal garden centre, fishery, soft play and pet food supplier all here at the frog. Regular events held here Welcome to “The Green Frog” – GREEN because we strive to be, and FROG standing for Fishing, Relaxing and Organic Gardening! (and because we like frogs!) – we know it sounds corny, but even the name makes you smile!
Our aim is to create in our own small way a facility here at Hammerlands in Moffat where the whole family can spend time in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings of the Upper Annan Valley surrounded by the Moffat Hills.
Fishing - for all the family - whether it be on our 4.5 acre spring fed lochan, with crystal clear waters (where the discerning fly-angler can see the fully-finned fish as well as trying to catch them) or in our smaller lochan, ideal for beginners, (or indeed experienced fishermen or women) who simply want to catch a trout for their supper! All equipment is available for hire if you haven’t packed your own and there are friendly staff on hand to give a helping hand to those trying fishing for the first time.
Relaxing – perhaps by the very act of fishing – but perhaps also by simply enjoying wandering through our shop, café, small garden centre and childrens play area, or by enjoying a walk outside in the fresh air around Hammerlands itself.
Organic Gardening – a particular passion of owner Kris Allan – with years of gardening experience behind her in the form of landscape gardening in her previous life before deciding to create and nurture “The Green Frog” Kris will always be on hand to share her experience and offer advice to potential or “budding” organic gardeners!
We are a brand new, family owned and run business, hoping to "grow" our business and reputation in many ways over the coming years.

Plants looking fantastic in the sun down at the Frog, hanging baskets in to buy now or pre book and let us look after them till danger of frost has past (usually first week of June.) Also basket plants in stock if you plant you own baskets and a select range of quality hardy shrubs hand picked to thrive in your garden.

Artisan Fayre and The Taste of May.. Don't forget everyone, the first Artisan Fayre is on this weekend.
