City and Guilds Qualified I provide professional grooming for all small and medium sized dogs in a fully equipped, calm and friendly salon.   Mollydogs is a professional dog grooming salon based in Milton Damerel, near Holsworthy, Devon.  My name is Verity Baker and I am a City and Guilds qualified Dog Groomer.  I was trained by Julie Dowle of Animal Magic who is also City and Guilds Qualified and has been grooming for over 30 years.

I offer a range of grooming services to help turn your Mucky Pup into a Hansom Hound.  Whether your dogs requires a full groom, or just a wash and brush up, all clipping and styling is done to your specification.

Grooming Services

Customer Card
When you bring your dog for their first groom you will be asked some questions to fill out a Customer Card.  This will include information such as your name and address, your dogs name, age, temperament and any special medical conditions to be aware of.  We will also talk about and take down your grooming requirements.

Health Check
Before any treatment is carried out I undertake a Five Point Health Check of your dog.  This includes checking Eyes, Ears, Body, Teeth and Feet.  This process helps to introduce me to your dog and also alerts me to any problems I may need to be aware of.

Brushing
Many dogs are nervous when they visit a grooming salon.  I start by giving them a thorough brush to help them relax.  This also removes any tangles and matted hair.

Bathing
Your dog is bathed using warm water and shampoo.  There are various shampoos available depending on the coat type.  A special head and face shampoo is always used however as it causes no discomfort if it comes in contact with eyes.

Drying
A stand dryer and a slicker brush and comb are used to ensure your dog is thoroughly dry and free of tangles before any clipping takes place.  

Clipping and Scissoring
Once your dog is completely dry I can complete the groom by clipping and/or scissoring your dogs coat to your specification.

Finishing Touch
To complete the groom your dog is given a light spray of perfume leaving your dog smelling fabulous.

Nail Clipping and Ear Cleaning
Nail clipping and Ear cleaning is also included in the full groom or available separately.
