Main structure completed, only thing to do is build and install doors for store, create hatch for loft area, install gutter and downpipe at the front. We are missing 6 Mk1 delta ridge tiles. Found a great company outside Norwich that specialises making discontinued tiles called Repco. They are sending them down to me on Monday.
Latest update on the oak garage. Timber structure all in place, weatherboarding started, tiles on front elevation and 1st fix electrics completed
Progress of the garage. Roof structure in place as is most of the stud work. Client very pleased so far!
Oak frame up and infill studwork to garage up. Next studwork for rear store to plate level then we can pitch the roof!
Using the chain mortiser, what a great bit of kit. Garage frame erected today, really pleased with the result!
Very frustrating couple of days. Been looking to hire one of these (chain mortiser) for next Tuesday for a few days to help with our current project, an oak framed garage. All hire shops seem to have closed until next Tuesday!
Portable workshop up and running! Creating the mortise and tenon joints for an oak framed garage. Base has already been laid and dwarf walls laid. We have now closed shop until the new year! Happy Christmas and New Year to you all!
Roof finally finished. Delay due to being a Kent peg tiler down and holidays. Really pleased with the result!
Busy week, dodging the showers. Tiling well underway, and remedial work on chimney completed other than small bit of pointing on north side. Leadwork started around chimney roof junction.
Latest job is to re-roofing a detached house, taking off existing peg tiles, saving what we can and replacing the felt and battens. Also we will repoint the chimney and install mushrooms over the fires that are not in use.
