One of the first Comprehensive Schools. Re opened as a comprehensive in September 1946. Built in 1946 by London County Council and extended in 1969 by addition of new buildings including a swimming pool, remodelling extensions built in 1950s. Full 11-19 curriculum offer. Renamed and reopened in 1988 as Battersea Park School, amalgamated with Sir Walter St John's, a former grammar school. Made into an 'Academy' by Tory Wandsworth Council and most of its good features destroyed by their ideologically driven mess.
