We have launched our Mental Health Awareness and positive well-being month today at our Tower Hamlets campus. We are displaying positive affirmation messages around the college and hosting a number of events with guest speakers, talking about anti-bullying, workshops and fun events.

We had coach transport company Stagecoach visit our motor vehicle group this week to talk about career opportunities. As well as an excellent turnout by our students, the talk was highly engaging and motivated our learners to work hard towards achieving on their current programmes. One standout message from Stagecoach which our students took onboard: You need GCSE maths and English to succeed in a career in engineering! 😀

Yesterday we had a visit from the Ruth Hayman Trust, who came in to award certificates to three of our ESOL groups. They had raised money for the trust by baking cakes and selling them to students, which involved using their improving English skills. The Ruth Hayman Trust provides educational grants to adults who have come to settle in the UK and whose first language is not English. They were very happy with the efforts our students had made to support their trust.

Congratulations to our football team for their 4- 2 victory over Queen Mary University yesterday. Player of the match was Samuel Mehari who scored twice in the first half.

Our student ambassadors are ready to welcome people for tonight's ESOL assessment evening 😀

Our Football team paid a visit to the Olympic Stadium yesterday to watch local side West Ham take on Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup replay. They enjoyed watching professional football and meeting team mascot Bubbles!
