*What is Manipulation?
“Structure determines function”.  If a joint is dysfunctional, imbalance is created and this imbalance within the body results in pain, limited range of movement and compensatory behaviours and patterns.  Manipulation works on joints of the spine and limbs to help restore correct functionality and improve the range of movement for optimal balance and structural function within the body.

*What is Orthopaedic & Advanced Remedial Massage?
They are techniques which work by rebalancing the body, through joint mobilisations, muscle energy techniques and soft tissue massage therapy.  Siobhan also uses special muscle, nerve, sensation, meniscal and ligament testing during her treatments to enable her to find the cause of your problem. This helps to make her treatments efficient and effective to help get you back fighting fit again as quickly as possible.

Each patient is treated on an individual basis with an holistic approach.  The goal of each treatment is to help the patient to become more functional and to enable them to move more freely with less pain and greater ease.  All of these techniques combined may help to alleviate the pain and restricted movements associated with the following conditions:

I see a lot of patients with acute and chronic back pain. A lot of the time, their intention is to strengthen up their core by doing copious amounts of sit ups, planks etc, which along with a desk based work scenario, ultimately leads to lower back issues as well as other issues. "Strengthening" the core through correct posture, correct breathing and appropriate rehabilitation is a much better option. So before you reach for the latest "ab-rocker" or core craze, take some time out and give yourself some breathing space! 🙅🏻🙌🏼
