Photobook Friday: When, on 26 April 2015, Islamic fanatics announced their ‘great attack’ on Aleppo, Syria, gallery owner and photographer Issa Touma decided to keep his gallery open “Art is the most powerful army against fanatics, it’s doubtless why they always want to destroy it.” Women We Have Not Yet Lost features portraits of fifteen women who sought refuge in the gallery when the conflict began. The photographs serve as a last message from the first victims of the war.
