Highland Dance School Our Highland Dance School offers a warm and welcoming family friendly learning environment where parents are welcome to sit in on our dance classes and watch the progress of their children.

Our dance school accepts pupils from the age of 3 years and upwards. There are no auditions held to join our dance school as all children of any age and ability are welcome to come along to our class, join and learn some of Scotland's oldest traditional dances at our dance classes which are held twice weekly.

With over 36 Highland and National dances as well as all the alternative steps within a dance available there is always something new and fun to learn.

Many of our highland dancers compete at competitions and Highland Games all over Scotland while other pupils come to our dancing lessons just to learn the dances, socialise,  make new friends as well as keeping fit.

Based in Kincardine and Airth the S.O.H.D.A
multi-championship winning Jenkins School of Highland Dancing was established in 1992 by sisters Alison and Laura Jenkins both past champions in their own right.

Over the years the school has grown in both size and experience, and senior pupils  have come on board as Full Teachers, Associate Teachers and Teachers in Training.

We encourage all of our dancers to sit SOHDA examinations giving any pupil the help and support they may require to progress through all the examination levels from pre-primary to the full teachers exam.

Dancers from our highland dance school regularly take part in displays, festivals, charity work, indoor competitions and Highland Games throughout Scotland.

Beyond the normal classes teaching standard Highland and National dances we also provide the dancers with the chance to participate in special choreographed routines at Festivals, displays and Ceilidh's at home and abroad.

Our dance school has participated in many trips abroad to Europe to such countries as Italy, Poland and Germany our most recent trips being to the Odenwald in Germany and Lucca in italy with pupils from our dance school performing some of Scotland's oldest traditional dances as well as fully choreographed highland dance routines for Dignitaries, V.I.P's as well as the general public at various Civic Functions, Ceilidh's, Festivals and Charity Events.

Although our highland dance school classes are based in Airth and Kincardine, our pupils have come to attend dancing lessons at our dance school from all over Central Scotland.

Jennifer Burden Memorial Trophy all polished and ready for tomorrow's Airth Highland Games, where it will be presented to the Jenkins dancer(s) with the most points over the 4 highland dances. Jennifer was one of our original dancers, starting at the Jenkins School on its first ever class. A beautiful dancer and a lovely, lovely girl. Jennifer sadly passed away in 2008 but she will never be forgotten by her friends at the Jenkins School. Forever in our hearts 💙💙 Laura & Alison XX

I would like to say a huge thank you to our dancers and parents for the absolutely stunning trophy they have donated to Airth Highland Games in memory of my Nana who sadly passed away last month. The Grace Jenkins Memorial Trophy is such a lovely, kind gesture and means so, so much to my family. On behalf of my Mum, Dad and Alison we would like to also thank you for the beautiful cards and flowers, and I know that my Mum and Dad will enjoy their special meal out together with the voucher you gave them. It has been a difficult and emotional couple of months, but we are truly blessed to have had the support of so many wonderful people. Thank you with all our hearts 💙
