KCC has it's own radio station! Watch this space for updates, competitions and keep your requests coming! The Bridge is KCC's very own radio station! The idea came about in 2009 by a range of different people to open up a college radio station, using the inspiration of modern technology and trends. Since Oct 2012 the station has been streaming during term time 5 days a week with a range of different presenters and themes. It is an internal streaming for entertainment and music to a College based audience. The schedule currently runs on a Week A, Week B basis, complementing the colleges timetable set up. They have also produced a 3 hour Saturday show celebrating St Nicks Fair in Dec 2012, presented by Matt Wester, with many other presenters chipping in along the way, with a second 3 hour run the following year, featuring the reunion of past DJs Rob Williams & Jack DJ, with the other two hours done by Freya Hoban and Matt Wester. Olivia Wingate, Carys Mills & Lucy Nichols also were heavily involved in this broadcast. The Bridge also took part in the celebrations for Red Nose Day/Comic Relief 2013, the main feature being the Harlem Shake dance. The station took down time for Summer, with a selection of new shows kicking off in Oct 2013. Since Jan 2014, a termly playlist has been published to represent the love of music that the Bridge radio carries. New shows have also been introduced with new DJs such as Alice Emberton & Andrew Hurrell. During the Spring and Summer of 2014, the DJs took part in a range of different shows including 2 end-of-term Top 30 Most Played Tracks countdowns and a charity fundraiser DJ Blindtime. The DJs were also given a week off and the opportunity to select their favourite choice of music.
