The PECH committee has donated free meeting space to the Inverurie & District Resilience Group. This is a follow on from the Scottish Flood Forum where PECH donated free meeting space during early 2016 so the Forum could provide support to residents impacted by the flooding. The current group is developing an action plan to deal with a major accident/emergency in the Inverurie area. The Scottish Flood Forum is working with Gairoch Resilience Group to develop a community resilience plan that will detail the actions they can take to plan, prepare, respond and recover from an emergency incident such as the flooding that impacted so many lives previously in the area. SFF’s Community Resilience Manager says: “As a charity we are very grateful for the use of Port Elphinstone Community house as it provides a quality meeting space where the group can develop their plans to ensure people are better prepared for future risks such as flooding”.
