Lovely evening talking the Halifax branch of Arthritis Care about what massage can do to help arthritis suffers. Massage is no cure, but it can ease pain, improve joint mobility and ease anxiety. I demonstrated some simple movements to ease pain. Lots of interest from the audience in taking further treatments.

I am concluding our summer tour of Calderdale fetes and galas by attending Blackshawhead Fete along with Caroline Tiler-Ansell, reflexologist extraordinaire. We will be offering back-and-shoulder massages, Indian Head Massages, relexology and reiki tasters for a measley fiver. Part of this Fete is a fell race, and we can help athletes by doing post-event sports massages to get rid of aches and pains. This Fete was excellent last year, so come along for a treat.

The non-English speaking father of my wife's French pen-pal from her schooldays arrived for a short visit. How can I make him welcome when my French conversation died some decades ago? Answer - give him a massage where his shoulders hurt in bed at night.

I am up and running again after a short break recovering from a back injuy in the gym. I have been well therapied whilst crooked, thanks to Caroline Tiler-Ansell's massages and Kim Metcalf's Bowen treatments. I am catching up with my old clients. A new client said that she was so impressed by my sports massage that is trying to get her partner to sign up, and another chap wants me to sort out his golfing injuries.

Recently Caroline Tiler-Ansell and myself have had lots of interest in our special offer "Massage for Two". We put two massage tables side-by-side and massage friends / partners / whoever for an hour, costing £50 for two. Bargain! It's at the Down 2 Earth Centre in Hebden Bridge, above La Perla. Come on down!

I will be taking part in the Heptonstall Festival on 2 July, along with Caroline Tiler-Ansell. Together we will be offering tasters in back-and-shoulder massages, Indian Head Massage, Reiki and Reflexology for a fiver. "The best fiver I have ever spent", said one client. However this particular Festival will feature a fell race. Both Caroline and myself are experienced practitioners in sports massage. Any runner wanting a massage after the race to ease their aches and pains should seek us out.

Tight quads seem to be the popular injury at the moment. Lots of clients seem to have them. Is it catching? However I can sort these out with sports massage techniques.

This year's Brodstock music festival will have, for the first time ever, a chill-out tent. I will be working with ace masseur and reflexologist Caroline Tiler-Ansel. Brodstock is a family-friendly music festival raising funds for Overgate Hospice. It's at Old Brodleans rugby club in Hipperhole, near Halifax. Doors open 11.30 until late.
