facebook.comThis cupcake bouquet was one of three that I made as centrepieces for a wedding in the Borders in the summer of 2017. I loved the bride's choice of colours, the shell pink and pistachio green matched the bridesmaids' dresses.
Delivered these wee staggies to A K Bell Library in Perth - hoping this display will inspire children to go and see the Monarch of the Glen painting for real at Perth Museum & Art Gallery where it's on show till 15 January. I've heard it's a stunning piece of art so that's one trip I'll be making over the festive. Here's the background to the tour of this iconic painting. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-39289937

Marzipan Day today. Well, it is at Leigh Smith Cakes . The alcohol in the background is sweet Marsala wine. That's what goes into your cakes instead of brandy. Yum yum. Just realised there is a Leigh-Smith Yachts on Facebook. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong!
Thanks to customers who loved their cupcake bouquets this year. Enjoy the show below, music provided free by Facebook Sounds. Prices will be going up in January to reflect the increasing cost of ingredients and because customers tell me I'm not charging enough for these! Order your 2018 bouquets before 31st December to get them at 2017 prices. Just drop me a message on Facebook to enquire about dates or email me at info@leighsmithcakes.co.uk.
Thanks to everyone who ordered a cupcake bouquet (or several) this year. Don't forget to let me know your dates for 2018 so you don't miss out. I'll be adding new flower designs and colours next year. Hope you enjoy this look back through some of this year's bouquets.
Did you know it's #InternationalMountainDay today? Here's a Scottish one I made last year. You wouldn't want to be venturing out today, though! Not without mittens and some hot chocolate anyway. This one is a Munro. Other mountains are, of course, available.
First time using 23 carat edible gold leaf from Wright's Of Lymm Ltd. Looking forward to hearing back from the bridal couple who got married yesterday at Fingask Castle Weddings. We designed their cake together to include elements that they wanted to incorporate including metallic gold and the Douglas tartan ribbon.
Young Jamie was very clear about his birthday cake design - Pikachu fighting the Lego Ninja. Your wish is my command.

Just had a lovely request from a customer who bought a Christmas cake from me last year, the first time she'd ordered anything. What a lovely message, it made my day - 'delicious' is great praise, so thanks for that, Wendy. "Hi there...hope I have the right person??!!😊...think it was you who made me the most delicious Xmas Cake last year...I ordered it from you through Mark at the shop in Glenfarg....I just wondered if you are making any again this year." Absolutely, I'm making them this year! Come along and taste a free sample at the Glenfarg Village Store this Thursday 23 Nov from 5-7 or the Mother and Toddlers Christmas Fair in the Glenfarg Village Hall this Saturday from 10-2. If you think it's delicious too, why not buy one for yourself and one as a gift?
