Knightswood Secondary had a special visit from the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland today, the Rt Revd Dr Derek Browning. He enjoyed meeting many of the young people and staff of the mainstream school before coming down to the Dance School for a demonstration of current work by some of our dancers and S5 and S6 musical theatre.

Wishing our graduate Amy McEntee the very best of luck as she makes her professional debut tonight right here in her home town of Glasgow! She will be performing with Scottish Ballet at the Theatre Royal in their Stravinsky double bill. Amy graduated in 2014 and went on to study at Central School of Ballet​. Our musical theatre students enjoyed a workshop yesterday afternoon with Martin Donaghy, who is currently appearing in 'Faithful Ruslan' at the Citizens Theatre and also happens to be a graduate of ours! If you missed the live stream of our students' performance at Scottish Learning Festival @ SECC earlier, you can catch it here. They performed to 600 delegates in the Lomond Suite (including John Swinney, Deputy First Minister of Scotland and the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills) and it was live streamed to other halls across the centre. Our students performed brilliantly at the Scottish Learning Festival @ SECC this morning. You may have seen our students perform Julian Moss' 'The Rite of Spring' (in collaboration with St Mary's Music School) in our showcase this summer at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall . Here our graduate Christopher Harrison talks about his role in Scottish Ballet's production (choreography by Christopher Hampson), which goes on tour next month.
