We are excited to have wildlife photographer Trevor Clifford as our next exhibiter starting on the 1st of August running for a month. About Trevor. Trevor Clifford is an award-winning Wildlife Photographer and associate of the Royal Photographic Society. He never ceases to be amazed by the wonders of God’s creation as he pursues his passion for wildlife photography. From the melancholy cry of the waders on a windswept salt marsh to the exuberant joy of the song of the blackbird in the garden; from the madness of the boxing hares in a farmer’s field to the soft bluebell scented air of the woodland; these are the ever-fascinating images of my native Essex which I attempt to capture on camera. In an increasingly hectic world, I hope my photographs will encourage others to stop, be still, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. “The wildlife photographer is a naturalist in spirit, a scientist, a poet and a dreamer, filled with respect for life that does not belong to him, a man who wants to share his emotions and his enthusiasm with others.” ( in Baufle, J.M. & Varin, J.P. Photographing Wildlife [1972]: Kaye and Ward Ltd.)

Sally Delany local Artist and Art Tutor, June exhibition. That time again, Our artist for June is the very talented Sally Delaney, kicking off with her open evening on the 6th of June from 6-8pm including wine and nibbles. The exhibition runs through till the end of June. About Sally. Sally Delany is a local Artist and Art Tutor, living and working in Frinton-On-Sea. Her work is inspired by nature, the figure and strong contrasts of light and shade. Sally has recently moved to the area after many years Teaching Art at the Midlands Arts Centre (mac) and Bournville College of Art, BCU, Birmingham. She has exhibited her work in Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, BCU and Woodbridge Gallery, Moseley. Sally is now a member of the Colchester Art Society and is working at FirstSite Colchester, teaching Life Drawing and Watercolour Classes, as well as participating in outreach projects (through Royal Opera & FirstSite) in schools around Essex. Frinton Art Society has invited Sally to lead a Watercolour Workshop in June this year. Sally’s private work is taught from her local studio and she sells her work through commission and exhibitions. Sally’s paintings, in this exhibition, are in acrylic on canvas, building layers of colours, all mixed with a limited palette. Many of the images are of water, in its many forms – raging waves and still reflections, energy and calm, light and dark. Photography is a starting point for inspiration for Sally’s work, as it is there that the dramatic qualities of light are captured and translated, via sketches, into paint on canvas. @sallydelany for Sally’s social media sites are open to the public, including Instagram and Facebook

We are excited to have Local Landscape Photographer Rob Woolf Exhibiting through the month of May. Rob's open evening is on Saturday the 4th May 6-8pm Wine and nibbles included. The month of May features extraordinary photography by local artist Rob Woolf. Rob is a photographer who just loves to be beside the sea. In his own words, ”I would say the over 90% of the photographs I've taken in the last 10 years have the sea or water as part of their compositions. I will often spend whole mornings or late evenings on the shore watching and photographing waves and the vibrant colours of dawn and dusk.” It is clear that Rob is a person that appreciates the colours of these magical hours and likes to convey images of colour and vibrancy. Rob says he is fascinated by how an image can look so different with the creative use of different shutter speeds. Visitors to his exhibition can enjoy the wonderful outcomes of his experimentation.

We are excited to be starting this year's exhibitions off with the very talented Duffy Tomei. Please come along to her Open Preview evening this Thursday 7th March 6-8pm. Wine and nibbles included. Duffy has a BA Hons in Drama, a Cert Ed and an FNATD dance qualification. The past has seen her teaching dance, working as a Drama practitioner and a lecturing in Performing Arts. Constantly drawn to creativity, she volunteered to work at an art gallery in 2015 and was very soon inspired to explore her own ability to paint. She discovered a natural aptitude and set about signing up for workshops with professional artists to develop her skills. Duffy’s desire to paint is insatiable. She is very versatile and works in the medium and style she feels best suits the subject, which makes her bank of work eclectic. Having spent her life surrounded by music, dance and song’, the exuberance and energy in Duffy’s paintings is without question. Precision of line was learned through years of disciplined dance training. This focus on detail in her work is enhanced with a natural freedom of expression. With the imagination of childhood, Duffy presented feasts of food for her dolls from pebbles, stones, flora and fauna. Nowadays, she continues to focus on nature as a stimulus for her paintings. Fascinated by the rolling waves and wide open skies of the East Coast, and local surroundings, Duffy produces inspired work, some of which can be seen at Photovogue Studios in Frinton on Sea throughout the month of March 2019.
