A membership Society celebrating Faversham's long and diverse heritage whilst helping to shape its future. The Faversham Society has evolved from a small group of interested and influential opponents to poorly planned modernization of Faversham in the early 1960's to a large multi-functional organization.
Its many roles include the collection and preservation of material evidence of Faversham's past; research, and publishing from the wider informational assets in the museum's archives and beyond, whilst also answering enquiries from around the globe; creation of permanent and temporary exhibitions on aspects of Faversham's history whilst also displaying work by local groups and artists; offers a programme of learning activities and opportunities, whilst also supporting educational institutions and groups; provides tourism and accommodation advice and support to the widest audience; maintains a watchful and professional eye on Planning and Development issues in Faversham, commenting where necessary to protect Faversham's unique character and built environment;

Why not come and catch our free 'Plastic Fantastic??' exhibition, supporting the campaign, in the Museum's foyer on the way to the event! (Please note: Museum exhibition open until 4pm).
We think you'll agree with us that there's certainly something very special about Faversham and the East Kent area, and at our next event with the Alexander Centre we're looking to celebrate this by giving you an opportunity to find out more about the attractions and organisations that make it so. Come along to the Heritage Fair on Saturday 3rd March to learn more. Free entry, all welcome :)

We're extremely privileged to be able to have Jonathan Neame of the town's nationally renowned brewery come and speak to us about its unique heritage, and what it has planned for future enhancement as an important visitor attraction. All are welcome to attend this event which will be taking place at the Fleur Hall on Thursday 15th February at 19:30. Tickets can be brought in advance from the Fleur shop on Preston Street and cost £5 per person (£3 for Society members) Please share with your friends and we hope to see you there :)
