****** ELVIS NIGHT at Ruby's - ADDITIONAL BAND NIGHT ***** Saturday 11th November (7.30 pm - 11.00 pm) at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Woodfield Lane, Ashtead, Surrey, KT21 2BE To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Elvis's passing Surrey Jive are proud to present Matt King as Elvis! Matt is no ordinary Elvis tribute artist, he is the 2016 European Champion and he will be playing a one hour set for us from the film years. Matt will ensure there are some great tracks for you to jive to and in between sets Surrey Jive's resident DJ Shakin Shep will be playing his hot mix of R&B, Rock n' Roll and Jump Jive. Looking at the huge interest in this event it will not be a night you will want to miss! So 'C'mon Everybody'....... Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall has a large sprung dance floor, licensed bar and a warm friendly Ruby's atmosphere. There is plenty of free parking and the hall is situated close to the M25. Hi Everyone, Well Surrey Jive's dance troupe 'The Jive Squadron' were out in force at the Chessington Jukebox & Retro Fair so a very big thank you to Sam Goldie & John Carpenter (Lez), Lindsay Aylesbury & Eric Jackson, Tracey Allen & Dean Shuttleworth, Karen Musk & Kim Le Beau, Nikki & Barry Slaymaker and of course Nicola Shepherd. You all looked fantastic and put on such a good show so thank you so much. If that wasn't enough we were so pleased to announce Wendy Hayter and Ricky Barrett as the first jive competition winners at Chessington Jukebox show. You both danced so we well and really deserved the win. Finally a huge thank you to everyone who came out to support us. We hope you had a great time. A big thank you to everyone who made it to Ruby's last night, we really do appreciate your support and we hope you had a lovely time. The evening was made even more special by two big birthday's...... Lindsay & Nikki, and the cake went down very well indeed so thank you Lindsay! I do have to make a special mention to Lez who help us set up tonight and to the 'die hards' at the end who helped us clear up. It was very much appreciated thank you very much. ****** Friday 27th October is Ruby's Record Hop with Surrey Jive at Cheam Social Club, 111-123 Church Hill Road, Cheam, Surrey, SM3 8LJ ****** Ruby's (Cheam) - This month we have decided NOT to hold a Halloween theme dance in fairness to Hersham Rock n' Roll Club as this is one of their big events and it would be unprofessional of us to do so. We do hope you understand our decision because we were not aware of this when we booked our theme night. That said, Ruby's and our resident DJ 'Shakin Shep' will be playing some fantastic floor fillers that include R&B, Rock n' Roll and Jump JIve so we do hope you can make it. Cheam Social Club has a large dance floor, subsidised bar and a warm and friendly atmosphere. After all we are 'The Home of Happy Feet'. Tickets are available on the door only at £8.00 each.
