Today, Class 6JS performed their class assembly to Key Stage 2 and to their parents and carers who came to watch. The theme of 6JS' assembly was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone which has been the topic of their literacy lessons this term. We had some great acting performances from the pupils who were dressed up as Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Dumbledore and also Volde...he who must not be named! Max and Zubyr wow'd us all as they read out a superb book review they had written in class! Well Done 6JS!

Mini Bassoons come to De Bohun! This week saw De Bohun welcoming a new instrumental teacher when Miss Rankin began visiting to teach mini bassoon. Children from years 3, 4 and 5 are taking part in this 'Tune In' project being made available by Enfield Music Services. With the bassoon being a 'minority' instrument, it is hoped that schemes such as this will result in greater take up of the instrument in future. The mini bassoon is a reduced sized version of the bassoon, so the perfect instrument for younger beginners. De Bohun pupils certainly enjoyed their first lesson and had a great time taking their initial steps on the road to becoming bassoon players!

We have recently offered pupils from Year 4 and 5 a 'Computational Thinking Skills' group at lunchtime on a Friday. The tasks given are designed to enable pupils to develop their computational thinking skills, provide an introduction to more advanced computing concepts and most importantly an opportunity to practice their resilience skills. Above all, it's a lot of fun and proving to be very competitive!
