EKRR 02's League Cup: EKRR vs Albion Rovers Score: 5-1 defeat Scorer: Gray A poor game by our standards yesterday, Albion Rovers are a dangerous team and can play some really good football but so can we when we put our minds to it we seen that last week against Milan. Mistakes cost us yesterday and not picking up enough 2nd balls when it's breaking. We need to be more alert in these situations. That being said I didn't think we played that badly overall some good individual performances and kept the ball well and got forward at times causing a threat. We just need more consistency in our game. Let's get the heads up and look forward to next week. #WATR

EKRR 02's League: EKRR vs Milan Score: 3-1 win Scorers: Mehasseb Stuart Hart MOTM: Stuart The boys were up against another top side in Milan at the weekend, a team who had previously beaten them 3-0 in the opening league match of the season. So the boys were looking to take the 3pts themselves this time. The boys started off brilliantly and were in control of game from the off keeping possession well and not letting Milan settle into any rhythm. The boys took the lead after some passing around the Milan box and a break of the ball which fell to Mehasseb he drilled his shot on target which proved to powerful for the keeper with the ball going underneath him. The boys stayed on top and a lovely passing move down the right hand side involving McGlone, Dunnigan and Wardrope which won us a corner and from the resulting corner Stuart got a header on target over the line. 2-0. Milan came back into it in the last 10 mins of the 1st half after the boys lost their shape a bit and didn't stick to doing their jobs well for a small period. Milan grabbed a goal from a cutback and made it 2-1. They had another chance but they couldn't finish it and it was 2-1 at HT. The 2nd half was more evenly matched chances at both ends Milan hit the woodwork also. Hart managed to grab that 3rd goal that restored a 2 goal cushion. A wicked Calderwood delivery from a corner caused problems and the ball landed at Harts feet to smash home. More chances came and went for both sides but no scoring and the boys seen out the game well. A much improved performance from recent weeks boys. It was great to watch you's take control the game like we know you's can. Keep that kind of attitude and performance up and we'll finish strongly this season. #WATR

EKRR 02's League: EKRR vs Albion Rovers Score: 3-1 defeat Man of the Match: Shaw The boys had a league game against Albion Rovers yesterday morning. The 1st half the boys never really got started at all and Rovers took full advantage of it by taking a 2-0 lead into HT which was well deserved. Shaw had a smashing effort saved superbly by the keeper after he was put through from a neat pass by Wardrope, that was our only real highlight of the 1st half. The 2nd half was a much better performance and we got a goal back from some good team work which released Shaw to fire a ball across the goal and Gray was at the back post to put it towards goal which actually came off the defender to go just over the line. The boys pressed for an equaliser and had some good chances to score but no luck in front of goal. Shaw was causing Rovers defence great problems down the left all of the 2nd half. Rovers had chances as well and unfortunately for us they managed to take one which in turn put the game to bed. A poor 1st half has cost us a result yesterday I would say although I wouldn't take anything away from Rovers they were well organised and kept the ball very well when I possession, something in turn which we will need to work on and this will be our focus over the next few weeks. We haven't been putting in performances like we were at the start of the season and we need to get back to that standard to finish the season strongly. Come on boys heads up and let's get back to our best. #WATR

EKRR 02's: Team Update!! After Ryan McDade's last game yesterday, he has handed over the captains armband to Harry Dunnigan and our new vice captain will be Cammy Stuart. I'm certain both boys will step up to the task at hand and help lead their team forward from the front!! We would also like to welcome our two new signings to the club Nathan McIntyre and Hussein Mehasseb. Both boys are real talents and will be a great additions to our already talented and hungry squad of boys! "We Are The Rolly and you's are the future" #WATR

EKRR 02's League: EKRR vs EDFC Score: 12-0 Scorers: McDade x3 Mehasseb x2 Shaw Calderwood McIntyre Hart x3 Gray MOTM: Brown After a free week last week the boys got back to league action yesterday at Ballerup. The shower of snow before kick off made the conditions worse for wear but it didn't put off the boys who went out and put on a 5 star performance. Yesterday's match didn't get off to the quickest of starts both sides looking sluggish and being careless in possession! A few half chances were passed up early on by McDade. He finally opened the scoring after 15mins, and quickly added another two after to hit an early hat-trick and settle the game for the Rolly. He was subbed shortly after to a massive round of applause by his team mates and sidelines as this was his last game for the club! Wardrope replaced him and we switched to a 4-5-1, the boys started pressing EDFC back and never let them out their half for the rest of the 1st half. New signing Mehasseb scored to make it 4-0. Shaw followed up with a fifth after following in to get on a rebounded shot off the keeper. Calderwood and McIntyre added another 2 before HT to make it 7-0 at the break. Changes were made at HT Hart, Scott & Gray all came on at the break. The boys continued to play brilliantly in the 2nd half keeping the ball well and only losing possession a handful of times. Hart bagged a hat-trick in the 2nd half which was his 4th in 4 games. Excellent return from someone who is in bang in form in front of goals! Gray popped up with a goal and Mehasseb grabbed a 2nd. A brilliant team performance yesterday, everyone involved was at the top of their game and it's great to see when making changes that it doesn't upset how we play as a unit! The defence was superb yesterday, Brown in particular who was absolutely solid and Connelly who also made some smart saves when needed. #WATR

We are absolutely delighted to say that our under 15's captain Ryan McDade last night signed with the Motherwell academy. Ryan is sad at having to leave behind his teammates and we are sad to see him go but we are all extremely proud of him making the step up to another level. Myself and everyone at the club wish Ryan all the best for his future, but he'll always be a Rolly boy!! Well done kid!! 👏🏻 #WATR

EKRR 02's League: EKRR vs Kildrum Score: 9-3 win Scorers: Gray McCarry x2 Hart x3 Dunnigan Shaw x2 MOTM: Hart Boys were back after the winter break and straight into league business. Our opponents were Kildrum who we knew would give us a tough game as the standard of opposition in this league is brilliant and it helps the team perform at a higher level. The Rolly started really brightly and had a few early chances, they had Kildrum right back in their own half. The opening goal came from a corner, good ball in from Edgar which was flicked on at front post and Gray tapped it in from close range at the back post. Boys didn't have it all their own way Kildrum hit back with an equaliser quickly. The boys dug in though and got themsleves back in front. McCarry scored from a corner, the smallest guy on the park scoring a heeder from a good delivery from Dunnigan. Hart got a quick fire brace before HT to make it 4-1 at the break. Both goals he took really well one on his weaker foot and the other he did well to stay on his feet to slot home. After HT Kildrum came right into it and put the boys under pressure and brought it back to 4-2. The boys stepped up another level though and hit 5 goals in a 10/15 minute spell. Some of the link up play between the midfield and strikers was fantastic and the goals were really well worked. Hart bagged another for a harry, McCarry took his tally to two, Shaw also bagged a brace and Dunnigan neatly netted a goal for himself. Kildrum added another late on. Full time finished 9-3. Great team performance yesterday from front to back. All worked well with each other and were patient when things didn't fall into place at 1st. Some terrific individual performances from Shaw, Edgar and Hart. I think Hart has now bagged 8 goals in last 3 games, brilliant return from the big man who has stepped up to the mark in absence of captain McDade.
