Buy Malawian 2017 (19th March.)

The Scotland Malawi Partnership are promoting buying Malawian goods over the next few weeks with the 19th March being a date which they hope to embed for this purpose every year in the future. Why is the 19th March significant? Through his travels, Dr David Livingstone fought against the slave trade and looked to open new trade routes into Africa to support its economic development. 150+ years later, the Scotland Malawi Partnership is continuing this same mission; hoping to cement Livingstone’s birthday – 19th March – as an annual “buy Malawian” day, to promote Malawian produce and support sustainable economic development. Wool-n-Wood goods are available on line.
