The first heat of this year's Battle of the Bands kicks off this Thursday at 7:30pm in Zephyr Lounge. !! PRACTICE ROOM PRIORITY BOOKING !! Now the heats for battle of the bands have been drawn, we are starting priority booking for the practice room. If you are playing in an upcoming heat and need to practice, message the page at least a week in advance and you can secure practice room time before it is available for booking. For those playing in heat 1, I have booked out a majority of the available times for the next few days (booked under the name Joe Blake), so the people playing heat 1 can claim some of them. We may have reached the end of a superb first term, but we can now look forward to Battle of the Bands 2018! An annual tradition for BandSoc, the competition sees 30 acts battling over the course of the term for a chance to win the grand prize of a free day in a studio, as well as that all-important place within BandSoc history - while just having a good time along the way. All six heats, as well as the semi-final, will take place in Zephyr Lounge (Leamington), with the grand finale in Copper Rooms 1. As you've probably seen, sign-ups are now open (http://bandsoc.co.uk/botb/registration/) and will remain so until Tuesday week 1 of term 2. On the first Wednesday of term 2, we'll be holding the Heat Draw in OC1.08 to see which bands will be playing in which heats - so at least one member of each band must turn up! We strongly encourage anyone who's interested to enter - any kind of style, genre, solo act or band is welcome!
