THE PROBLEM WITH EVENTS! I am of course thinking of the atrocious attack in Manchester on Monday. Wherever there are large amounts of people security is becoming an ever important element of the management of crowds. Even though it is impossible to keep everyone safe a balance has to be struck between a rigid and hectoring security and no obvious security at all. We all have to be vigilant. Not just when we go to an event but all the time. Other than that I really don't know what the answer is in terms of making events more secure but one thing is for sure - we must carry on with our lives as normally as possible and we mustn't stop going to events.

RFID Wristbands

What is the biggest pain attending any event? I'll tell you. Queuing. What is the solution. READ ON. Not only for the visitors or fans is it a massive pain but also for promoters and event managers. For the promoter it is a pain because people are not on site spending money. For the event manager it is a pain because queues have to be managed, which costs money. So, ask yourself, why are there queues? Because the ticket or print at home or whatever has to be scrutinised or scanned or processed in some way. Sure - some events have security checks that have to take place but at a lot of venues they are not compulsory. The answer is to issue a WRISTBAND AS A TICKET. Wrist's RFID Wristbands can be processed in exactly the same way as a ticket - printed from stock, personalised and sent out or issued on site. Also, Cash can be loaded onto the wristband. This means that visitors or fans arrive at the event and go straight in and start spending and more importantly start enjoying themselves. RFID Wristbands as Tickets and More

The last thing you need at any event is a queue at the entrance. It not do anyone any good. It is a pain to stand in the rain (assuming it is raining) and it is a pain for the event as they want visitors in as soon as possible. There is no reason why excessive queues should exist with good management and sufficient resources. One gate should be able to process 500 people per hour and with RFID Wristbands as tickets this can be increased by 100 per hour. What with the demise of the Secret Garden Party next year, the dwindling number of headliners, the endless increasing costs, the endless compliance's from planners, council and other regulatory bodies, the diminishing amount of independent festivals, the endless march of the big promoters; it makes you wonder if really original music festivals in the UK will exist for much longer. But. Promoters in the UK seem reluctant to embrace new technologies that will increase revenues and decrease costs. I'm talking about RFID obviously but everywhere else (Europe, North and South America, South Africa, India) is embracing and benefiting from the the tech. But not in the UK. And I don't really know why.

Chip & Pin & Connectivity Service. A unique service that will increase takings by at least 20%. Taking Credit and Debit Card payments at outside events has become essential. To date Event Managers have to organise one company to bring in the connectivity for off-site via the Internet and a wireless network on-site. Then they have to go another provider for the Chip & Pin devices. Connecting them to the Internet can be a nightmare with nobody taking responsibility. Wrist's new Chip & Pin & Connectivity Service will take care of every element required to get reliable payment services to just about any event.

Cashless or not to Cashless. That is a very tricky question. Cashless will reduce losses and expenses. Cashless will encourage people to spend more. But the implementation from connectivity through to the receipt printer has to be right. Take a look at a paper based on our extensive experience outlining the Three Stages of Adoption. Ignore at your peril! http://www.wristmarketing.com/Uploads/WristMarketing/Cashless%20The%20Three%20Stages%20of%20Adoption.pdf

Scanning RFID Wristbands can be difficult if you are using an NFC Tablet, especially when dealing VIPs. The answer is a Bluetooth RFID Scanner which is far better. It also means you dont have to have NFC enabled Tablet. Just point the stylus from about an inch away from the RFID Wristband or Card it it sends the information to the Tablet or Phone

Cashless Events might be cool but of much greater value is real-time reporting and post event analysis of all Card and Cash Transactions. In this way control and management can be exerted over every commercial element of an event. It is by far the quickest way to reduce costs and increase revenue.
