Shetland produces a wealth of ingredients used in the bakery such as milk, butter and cream . We only use dairy products from Shetland Dairies. Our lamb, beef are supplied by local butchers .
We have a strong belief that using excellent quality ingredients can make the difference. So we only use Turkish sultanas, Greek currants , French glace cherries. Our plain & self raising flour is all British from Bradshaws mills in Yorksire and Allied Bakeries.
Steve rents the space at Burravoe Hall, Yell which has a very good catering kitchen - in partnership with the hall , he has been able to start the bakery here. Whilst not something he planned to do when he moved to Shetland, perhaps its simply that once a baker ... always a baker .
There are so many awesome home-bakers up here in Shetland, the renowned "Sunday Teas" are great fun to attend and try out other peoples creations. Who doesn't love a well made fancy ?!

We were thinking that we could make these to order if anyone wanted one...
🔥🔥Every Up Helly Aa lover gets hungry don't they? 🔥🔥so if you're out & about in town celebrating over the next couple of days, our freshly baked Reestit Mutton and lamb pies will be replenished again at Don Leslie's and Alex Morrisons tomorrow, also available in Sound Service Station. Why not try one of our hand - pressed Shetland Reestit Mutton pies, or our Shetland lamb Scotch pie's both packed to brim with delicious local meat 👍❤️🙂

Happy New Year everyone! Well, we're back in the swing of things and looking forward to a busy 2018 😀👍 As always, keep a look out for some new product lines early this year, starting around Up Helly Aa time... 😜 The picture below? Well it may be a bit soon after the festive season to be looking at naked Rum Truffles, but we snapped this earlier this morning and loved the look of the vermicelli mountain!
