We're sure the children have told you all about World Book Week and all the activities taking place in nursery. Lots of learning and creating through the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. Below is just a sample of some of our activities.

It's been a busy World Book Week in nursery. The children looked fantastic in their costumes today. Keep an eye out tomorrow for lots of photos of everything the children have been doing relating to Jack and the Beanstalk, the book the children voted on to explore this week.

On Wednesday we poured some water in a tray and put it in the freezer. The children told us the freezer is cold, colder than a fridge and that the water would turn to ice! Today we had a look and we had ice! The children felt the ice and played with it telling us it was hard and cold. We kept one cube in a container and left it for the whole of nursery. At the end we had a look and the ice turned back to water. How fortunate to also have snow today. We brought some in to nursery for our tuff tub and the children played with it and saw it melt. Children could tell us that snow comes from the clouds and that it has to be cold to snow. ❄️❄️❄️

This week the children have been making bird feeders. They kindly made some extras for the outdoor area. During the making there was lots of discussion about what living things need to grow.

We thought we would share some of the things the children have been doing in nursery this week. Continuing with the children's interest in shape there have been lots of boxes available for play and learning - cubes, cuboids, cylinders. Lots of building and discussion of plans have been going on between the children. We also have a new resource, a tuff tub, which provides endless learning opportunities. Today it was a construction site. It has also been used for shape play and painting with different types of spheres. Also this week we have had the balance and pedal bikes out. A very full and busy week at Bishopbriggs Village Nursery!

We are delighted that Sarah Jane has been visiting us again from A Star sports ⭐️. The children are having lots of fun, and learning too through games and physical activity.

🏅 Going for Gold 🏅 Today we welcomed Fiona and David from East Dunbartonshire Council who provided a session for the children featuring physical activity and games.

On Wednesday we will be celebrating Burns Day. It will be all things Scottish! Music, poetry, stories, food and activities. The children are invited to wear some tartan.

🎄Christmas Party🎄 Tomorrow, Tuesday 20th, is the Christmas Party. All children are invited and can wear party clothes. Parents/carers, friends and family are welcome to join us from 11am when we may have a special visitor 🎅🏻

How wonderful were the boys and girls at their concert! Fantastic! We hope you enjoyed it! 🎄

🎅🏻🎄 Christmas Concert 🎄🎅🏻 Tomorrow, Monday 19th, is the Christmas Sing a long Concert. Please join us from 10:40 for the craft fayre, teas/coffees and mince pies. Could the children wear their nursery polo shirt or a red t shirt/top. Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow 😀
