Tony and Frankie were honoured to be presented with the British Citizens Award in London yesterday. They were nominated for the award by local councillors Archie Dryburgh and Sean Marshall in recognition of their work setting up and managing Newstart Recycle. Multiple testimonials from individuals and the organisations Newstart works with were received in support of the nomination. In accepting the award they said " It is a privilege to have the opportunity to help the less fortunate and those in difficult circumstances and the success of Newstart Recycle couldn't have been achieved without the fabulous support from all of the volunteers and above all the local community over the last 2 years in operation". Well done Tony and Frankie and well done to our community for working together to help so many.

It's the time of year to buy new school clothes.. so PLEASE drop your children's outgrown ones off at Newstart. We give them free to families in our area. Annan/Eastriggs/Lockerbie/Langholm/Fechan/ Canonbie,/Gretna/Gretna eh/ Moffat and all schools in between or that we have missed out. Thank you.
We would like to thank everyone who voted for us in our application for the award of a Poverty Grant. As a result of your support we have secured some funding to help us continue to support the local community.
