Description
The best budget capes for the discerning fly dresser. Primarily badger capes for salmon flies and grizzle capes for trout flies. Individual capes are photographed and put up with a number and price. If interested, email me with the cape numbers that you would like and I will send you a paypal invoice. Once this is paid, the capes will be posted on. Postage costs start at £1.50, which usually will cover up to 3 capes. I have seen other capes of inferior quality being sold for a lot more. Capes are priced at what I would want to pay for them. These are from my own birds, which are free ranged as much as is possible and fed on good quality feed. I only keep a small number of birds, so once they are sold it will be Feb next year before more capes are available.

Badger Capes
Set of badger capes. If you are wanting any of them, message me with the No. Postage for a single cape to UK is £1.60 and Europe is £3.20. Second cape will go for te same price. Third cape is likely to be over the 100g limit and will be £2 for UK and £4.50 for Europe. I hope to put up a set of coloured capes tomorrow and hen capes on Thurs.
Rain at last! River Stule has eventually got up enough to allow salmon up. Sorry for delay in replying to anyone. When there is a chance at a bar of silver, you have to take it! We had a big escape of farmed rainbows last year, so a couple of them removed too. Water will be mostly gone today, so hopefully get caught up with my messages.
Second hatch of the season! 18 chicks making the move from the incubator to the electric hen. So the cycle begins again!
If you are looking for any of them pm me and let me know the number of the cape you would like. Saddles would suit size 6-8, the genetic are slightly finer and will go to 10's. Capes will do from small sizes through to large.

Mostly cock capes and saddles. The capes will do a full range of sizes and would be quite a stiff feather. The saddles are 8-12 size range and are a softer feather than the capes. Starting to dye some of the white Cock capes and saddles. Capes are in the£15-18 range and saddles £12-14. The photo is a £13 sunburst saddle and a fiery brown and sunburst cape valued at £16 each. I have Florescent yellow and chatruesse, golden olive and claret done this evenning. I will be starting on the salmon colours next. If there is a colour you want, let me know.
The Scottish Fly Fair 2018 10 March at 10:00 Stirling Court Hotel The event is on this coming weekend, with a good number of people demonstrating How to tie flies. These include:- Billy Scott tying some traditional patterns as pinfry patterns. I really like the look of them. He has also kindly offerred to sell a few badger capes, saddles and dyed hen saddles. John Ferguson who will be tying traditional wet flies using my hen hackles and he will have a number of my dyed and natural hen capes for sale.
Some grizzle capes, as usual if you want 1 or more of them, let me know the number. I will mark them as sold ., if they are gone.
