Boxes aren’t just for jumping! 📦 Here’s a couple of exercises to work your upper and lower body. Tighten glutes on the step up and raise that knee high. Follow it up with some knee pushups (or take those knees up to make it harder!) keep that core tight and lower your chest to the box. Anyone taking part in the Southampton Marathon? To help you out in preparation for marathon training, we have comprised a list of tips to get you on the move! Good luck if you are training and please let us know how you get on! 😀 - Build up your core strength!💪 The core plays a crucial role in stabilising the body, maintaining a neutral pelvis and delaying the breakdown of your form when you become fatigued. -Foam roll! 🏃 Massaging muscle tissue reduces the inflammation of your muscles and enables you to recover quicker. -Fuel yourself properly! 🍽 Aim for a small meal between 250-300 calories approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours before you start running. Eating immediately before can lead to cramps, and running on an empty stomach can cause you to run out of energy sooner. -Cut back! ✂️ Begin to cut back on your training the week before to allow your body to recover and rest. It's important to not stop completely but to reduce the amount you currently do.
