Today, 2 March 2018, is the first ever #SheDecidesDay. This important broad international movement was started by Dutch former minister of foreign trade and development cooperation Lilianne Ploumen. It aims to ensure that only #SheDecides about her own body. This is a right all women and girls have and should enjoy. Because when #SheDecides the world is better, stronger and safer.

The Finale KPN Grand Prix | Sea-Ice Classic was held in the freezing cold of Luleå, last weekend. While Dutch speedskate stars such as Ireen Wüst shone brightly in Peongchang, several fellow Dutchmen raced to success on natural ice in the Swedish high north. Last week, the sports magazine Idrottens Affärer called it a win-win situation for both the athletes from the Netherlands and the local tourist industry. #NLinSweden #KPNGrandPrix

Our Deputy Head of Mission Govert Visser is on his way to Luleå to participate in the seminar "Tillväxt med besöksnäring som motor". This seminar is organised in conjunction with the iceskating competition KPN Grand Prix with many Dutch participants. At the seminars there will be speakers from the Netherlands, like Bram Smallenbroek (Skating Luleå) and René Hanssens (City of Rotterdam). Hopefully there will be time for some skating as well...

Last week, we organised the first Young Professionals Event. The evening intended to provide young (Dutch) persons with useful tools to build their professional career in Sweden. A large group gathered to listen to the knowledgeable panel (Vattenfall, Undutchables Recruitment, Grow Internationals). Personal experiences and relevant tips were shared.
