It has been raining non stop at ChaZen for the past two days. Since the raining season started we have received 25 inches of rain. We are so grateful and the habitat is in fantastic form.

African Cheetah Male cheetahs are sociable and may live in a group of other males. Females, on the other hand, are not sociable and do not establish a territory. They are solitary and avoid each other. However, they may live with their mothers, daughters or sisters on their home ranges. Females has an average age of sexual maturity between 20 and 23 months. The gestation can last for 90 to 95 days. Female South African cheetahs hunt solo, except the cheetah cubs will accompany their mothers to learn how to hunt on their own after the age of five to six weeks. When cheetah cubs reach 18 months of age, the mother will leave her cubs, and the siblings remain a group for a few months until the sisters leave the group and the brothers stay together.

Today we had the privilege to witness the coming together of two people. Paulo De Gouveia and Marie Dippenaar De Gouveia. It was a beautiful summer afternoon spent in celebration with family and friends.
