HISTORIAL BACKGROUND:
Ijioma Memorial Group of schools (IMGS) is one of the oldest private institutions in Kano and its environs. It was established as an adult education center in 1957 with the approval of the then, Provincial Education Officer, Kano Province, Kano. And in 1964 its nursery and primary sections was founded to meet with the increasing demand for education as at that time due to few government owned schools in existence. Due to the excellent performance of its pupils in academics, the Kano State Ministry of Education deemed it fit to grant approval for the establishment of its secondary section, hence the birth of Unity Comprehensive college (UCC) which consists of Junior and Senior Secondary schools, as a division, in 1990. It had its first WAEC graduates in 1995 and NECO in 2000.
LOCATION:
The school is situated at its permanent site at No. 5 Ijioma School Avenue, behind Capital Insurance co. Ltd, off Hadejia road, Kano, in a .3175 hectare land with a two floor building consisting of 26 standard sized classrooms, 18 toilets and four office spaces in an extraordinarily conducive environment for learning and safe from the periodic political insecurity in Kano.

MANAGEMENT:
The school presently has in its employment 4 graduate teachers, 6 NYSC teachers and 3 Diploma teachers in the secondary section and 4 diploma teachers in its primary section and 4 management staff.
