2016 Rio Paralympics Congratulations from everyone here at the #AISEuropeanTrainingCentre to our Australian Paralympians who called the centre home during the summer. The Pararowing and Paracanoe crews are annual guests here in downtown Gavirate and it was with great pride that we watched kayaker Curtis McGrath win Gold in the KL2 event on his debut at the Games. McGrath joined Amanda Reynolds (silver KL3) and Susan Seibel (bronze KL2) as medallists on the biggest stage of all. Rower Erik Horrie became a two-time Paralympic medallist with silver in the AS Men's Single Sculls. Also a special shout-out goes to cyclist Alistair Donohoe who was oh-so-close to winning the Men's Road Race C4-5 crashing just metres short of the line when in the lead. He regathered to finish 5th, still an outstanding result. Congratulations to all athletes, coaches and support staff. We hope to see you back here next year.
