Ustrasana - Camel Pose This backbend is one of the most therapeutic in the yoga practice Some of the many benifits include: *Reduces fat on thighs *Opens up the hip, stetching deep into the hip flexors *Stretches and strengthens the shoulders and back *Improves digestion *Improves posture *Opens the chest improving respiration *relives lower back pain Avoid trying out this posture if: ^You had recent abdominal surgey ^Or if you you have recent or chronic knee, shoulder, neck or back injury or inflamation How to do camel pose: -Begin on your knees with your legs and feet hip distance apart -engage your core and press your hips and thighs forward - lift your chest and on the inhale reach towards your heels -warm up first and never force the body to move with the breath.
