LITTLE ACORNS CHILDMINDING SERVICE MISSION STATEMENT My aim is to provide a homely early years setting where children feel comfortable, safe and secure at all times, are happy and content and are provided with stimulating learning opportunities. I wish to provide a daily routine and environment in which children normally encounter with their own family through everyday activities such as visiting friends, walks, visits to local shops and stimulating play. Through this setting I am able to offer one to one attention and develop a positive relationship in a child’s life. I hope to ensure the children in my care develop intellectually, creatively, socially, emotionally and physically through everyday routines, planned and unplanned activities and by means of age appropriate toys and resources. My vision is that all activities are centred around the child’s interests and their unique personalities whilst also implementing a play based curriculum centred around the Aistear & Siolta Frameworks. I will cater for babies, young children and after school children and will provide a curriculum in an age appropriate manner. Each child will have their own learning journal which will contain observations, photographs of each child involved in the various activities and their artwork. As each learning journal is completed, it will be given to the parents, but you may ask to look at it at any time. In addition, each child will receive a copy book each day to take home so that parents can check how their child’s day went, e.g. nappy changes, bottles, what foods were eaten etc. This book can be used as a communication book to record how your child is each morning, if they had a broken night’s sleep or needed medication etc or anything that is relevant to how your child may be during the day. It is important that you bring this book each time your child attends. This is not meant to replace verbal communication.
