Back up your Back up! I'm always advising people to back up important data to an external drive but make sure you keep it on your PC or laptop too. If you drop or damage the drive - it can fail and your precious files are gone forever! It happened to a customer this week and his college project was lost on the eve of the deadline for presentation! It was a hard lesson. Keep 2 copies - to be sure!

***BEWARE, BEWARE RANSOMWARE!!**** There is some new Ransomware flooding the internet. It is Locky Ransomware and the variations are .THOR and .SH*T so if you receive an email with an attachment and you dont know the sender, DELETE IT! For anyone not famliar with Ransomware, if you inadvertantly open an email attachment that contains these viruses, it will encrypt all your data and then offer to decrypt it for a large fee. It is virtually impossible to decrypt and recover your data, especially if it is one of the newer Ransomware strains. So unless you have a back up, you can say goodbye to all your data, files, photos etc. If you need any advice on Ransomware or Back up solutions, please drop me a message...
