Like and share this post to be in with chance of winning a €37 protein pack. Draw will take place on Saturday 20th August. Meat protein for sport! Our bodies cannot store protein. If you partake in exercise or sport your protein needs are greater than the average individuals exercise if endurance based has a different effect on the body's synthesis of protein. If strength or mass based, an individual will damage muscle during training and protein is required to repair the tissue. Meat proteins are similar to protein found in your body, they contain all the essential amino acids that your body needs to function. These amino acids help repair small muscle tears and injuries quickly. Meat is also a valuable source of Iron, B vitiates zinc and selenium iron is vital in the formation haemongoblin which transports oxygen throughout your body. Zinc helps build tissue and aids metabolism which selenium is crucial to the breakdown of fat and chemicals in the body. The vitamins abundant in meat promote strong teeth, a robust nervous system and good mental health. Healthy skin is also a benefit of eating a diet with regular meat consumption. If you partake in sport whether competitively or as a hobby, meat proteins should be a vital part of your diet. Endurance or strength training needs extra protein to aid recovery, repair tissue and grow lean muscle mass. To maintain a strong immune system during training, sports people should keep their intake of protein high. A deficiency of protein while training will result in longer recovery times, fatigue, lethargy and the possibility of further more serious issues. Beef, dark poultry meat and pork are excellent sources of iron and zinc, no single meat can provide all the crucial nutrients needed, a variety of cuts and type of meats will provide the full range of nutrients. Denis' Meats in Kenyon St is now providing specially selected protein packs of mixed meats to provide a full range of nutrients needed for athletes!
