I always feel bad when I get a message 'I don't know if you saw my last text Charlene but I was wondering ......' and I know I've let a message slip through the cracks 🙈 Apologies to anyone if I miss a message, your enquiries & bookings are important to me, There would have been a genuine reason at that time....like a toddler throwing a full blown tantrum 😂 I do my best to keep on top of them so thanks for texting me again to remind me 👍

Unfortunately when you work in an appointment based business, fitness classes, restaurants, beauty, hairdressing you risk a loss of income from last minute cancellations and no shows! For that reason many have no choice but to enforce cancellation policies to cover overheads, wages and childcare. I often get asked by other self employed people how I deal with it....and my answer is.......'luckily it doesn't happen me often' I am extremely thankful that my clients and class goers respect and value my time, I appreciate their sincere honesty and notification when they have a genuine reason for cancelling & I feel valued when they rebook. I am fortunate that most fulfill their commitment when booking places. I am blessed that they understand that this is my livelihood and while I enjoy my work, they can see I invest considerably in my education and providing the best premises I can. So on the rare occasion when it happens, instead of feeling upset at the lack of consideration, I remind myself of all the wonderful clients who show up consistently and I make a promise to try and raise my children with integrity, to value others, their profession & their time. Then I text them and say 'seriously....this is not on' 😂😂 just kidding! You can't control the actions of others, I hope if you are self employed that your wonderful clients respect you too.
