Welcome to the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in GMIT! Like us to see our best photos, videos, and projects in your newsfeed. The Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering offers programmes in Mechanical, Energy and Operations Engineering.

Our students spend more than half their learning time in our state-of-the-art laboratories, working in small dedicated groups. In the past 2 years,  we have invested over half a million in a range of laboratories covering areas such as: Biomedical Engineering; Advanced Automation; CNC Machining; Fluid and Solid Mechanics and most especially our newly commissioned Energy laboratory.
