I spent time today teaching children how to skip again. It's amazing how children don't spend any time free playing now days. With free playing they learn how to crawl, skip and roll which helps develop their fundamental movement skills.

Hip Hinge with Dowel

The video below is a excellent way to coach the hip hinge movement. Make sure the dowel maintain contact with the head (neutral), upper back and the sacrum. Add this into your warm up to improve spinal alignment !! This movement transfer over to the RDL & KB swing exercise when adding load.

Teaching bear crawls with some good coaching cue of using a cone & tennis ball. In the first picture the girls are in a 4 Point Crawling (Knees off the ground) going forward and back and the second picture the girls are going lateral. The key is to limit pelvic/lumbar sway in the crawl therefore if the ball falls of the girls we know there has been to much movement of the pelvic/lumbar. This will usually slow them down and keep their hips under control.
