A Chairde, Scoil Mhuire Fundraising Committee is delighted to inform you that the Department of Education has awarded a further grant of €50,000 towards our school development costs bringing our total pledged so far to €90,000. The fundraising committee has been lobbying the Department for the past six weeks, seeking acknowledgement of the enormous financial commitment that has been made by our community through our €5 per week/€390 one off payment scheme. This generosity and determination has paid off handsomely, with the Department feeling compelled to reward us with this further €50k, totally based on the huge efforts made to fund raise such a large amount of money. We would like again to extend our sincerest thanks to those who have contributed to and continue to contribute to the development fund. Reaching our target is still dependent on the weekly standing orders that have been set up and also on further subscription from parents and the wider community. We are 90% of the way there and we now appeal to the many people who have stated their intention to support the fundraising effort to send in your donations as soon as possible. These donations can be posted to the school or dropped in to the shop where we have a fundraising collection box. Ballyhooly is a community with great heart. Congratulations to everyone on the success thus far. We are nearly there. We are doing this together and have shown that in Ballyhooly our children do indeed come first. Kind Regards, The Ballyhooly N.S. Fundraising Committee
