The Social Democrats are a new force for change in Irish society. We aim to provide a space for people to unite and work towards a society where every person has the opportunity to achieve their potential. The party is founded on the core principles of Progress, Equality, Democracy and Sustainability.

Sick and tired of empty promises and moral posturing in regard to the refugee crisis? Looking for tangible students that have a chance to actually be implemented in order to improve the situation for all suffering? This event seeks to offer different political parties' suggestions as to how we should tackle this issue in both the short and long term. Featuring UCC Social Democrats Society, UCC Greens, UCC Young Fine Gael Society and UCC Sinn Féin, this promises to be an informative and solution driven panel discussion. Confirmed speakers so far are Ciaran McCarthy (barrister and Social Democrats' candidate in Cork North West), Isaac McNamara(Chairperson of UCC STAR Society) and Faolán Carberry (Vice-Chairperson of UCC Young Fine Gael). So anyone interested in ending the suffering of the many refugees in a compassionate but logical way, join us this Thursday at 7pm in Aras na Laoi. All welcome!

Heralded by some as the answer to job losses due to automation as well as being the key to a more fulfilled life, UBI is not without it's opponents.
