Or: Ireland v's Netherlands - SO exciting that we're having these conversations!! I was fortunate to teach sex ed in a school that was liberal enough to facilitate me to work like this too. It does work. It can be done. It's being piloted in a Dublin school too. It's also fun for both students and facilitators. After all, while there are very serious issues to be addressed, sex and relationships are supposed to be fun! You can't have fun if there is shame, fear and secrecy!💛

Autism symposium on May 3rd! They're making a live stream available for £10. It's good value I reckon:

I have a friend - well, I know and admire a woman who might yet be a friend - and this morning I woke to find an email from her in my inbox, with a recording attached.

"Minister for Education Richard Bruton has asked policymakers to review the 20-year-old curriculum on relationships and sexuality education to ensure it meets the needs of young people in Ireland today." This is great news! Let's develop the BEST sex education. I and 3 colleagues had started out our TY work in this area in 1998 - even then the curriculum was not meeting the needs. The 1998 "update" mentioned in this piece was sadly lacking. It didn't meet the needs of young people then, never mind now. So maybe this time we'll get it right? One thing has is clear following the horror of the last few weeks - we are more motivated than ever to get this done! #SexEd #consent #sexting #porn
