facebook.comA useful HSE Directory of Supports and Services for Older People in Cork City and County has been published ... It can be viewed at this link or even downloaded/printed for someone you think might use it http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/publications/olderpeople/Directory-of-Supports-and-Services-for-Older-People-in-Cork-City-and-County.pdf
The fallout from Storm Ophelia continues with many in the community without electricity and possibly water, landline phones, without Internet coverage and poor if any mobile coverage .. The Coachford area was estimated to be connected to the electricity grid last night Wed 18 but now is not estimated to be reconnected until tomorrow Thurs 19 Oct at 8pm ... hopefully this can happen as a matter of urgency ... hardship is being caused particularly for older community members and please do ensure to check if needs be on your neighbours .. Not everyone can see this message or has instant contact to the outside world in these conditions so be vigilant and go the extra mile to show community spirit ... C103 as the county radio station is an excellent daily source of local information and updates ... And stay safe all ☺️
Good advice .. Stay safe all and do consider checking on any elderly neighbours after the storm is past .. Times like this need community spirit 😀
The Community Council would like to sincerely thank all those who subscribed at the recent parish church gate collections. The sum of €1,333 raised will help greatly towards administration and other expenses incurred, as we continue to work on behalf of our local community.

This afternoon Vera, Paul, their family, friends and supporters reached Dublin and Leinster House after the long walk from Cork. It has been a long journey for them in many ways, and hopefully will lead to new beginnings, and help Ava and others. We wish them the very best. The solidarity and support shown by our local community and across the country is also wonderful to see.
