The Mitsubishi GT2103 is an extremely cost effective HMI and is the most basic model of Mitsubishi's GOT (graphic operator terminals) range. However that doesn't mean that you can't do some really nice control with the GT21, this is a small control project we recently built using a GT21 and an FX plc. Bench testing a small control system this evening that we built for a level control application. An IFM electronic guided wave radar sensor reliably feeds a 4-20ma signal to the controller. The sensor can be tuned to ignore foam build up on top of the liquid allowing for accurate and reliable control. The Mitsubishi inverters operate the system pumps. So on this upgrade project we stopped production, uninstalled the old FX2N, installed the new FX3U, modified some of the wiring and had the line back in production in the afternoon. The remarkable thing about this is that with the Mitsubishi PLC system we can use the latest software to connect to a legacy controller and copy up the program, we can then use the exact same program in the new controller by just changing the PLC type in the parameter settings. This old Mitsubishi FX2N plc has seen better days. When the company said it had been acting up lately and lost a few outputs I checked it out and found that the machine manufacturer had connected some valve coils directly to the transistor outputs. The outputs in question have worked for many years hundreds of times per day switching a load greater than the designed max amperage. It is a testament to the quality of the Mitsubishi products and the new FX3U we are fitting will keep production running on this line for many years to come. Working with some ABB air circuit breakers recently. Maintenance included checking all connections, disassembling, checking and reassembling all accessories. Testing the trip mechanism and thermal imaging under load. A recent overhaul project we done for a customer with an old wind turbine who's manufacturer no longer exists. The project involved overhauling the turbine yaw system. We disassembled completely the yaw system and replaced all the components which we had manufactured to original specifications.
