The student population is around 745, with 515 in the Senior School and 230 in the Junior School, and 20 in the Montessori. The school is administered by a Board of Governors as a charitable trust. The current headmaster is Tom Geraghty. Situated on a site of approximately 60 acres overlooking Bray, St. Gerard's has a tradition of fostering excellence in academic achievement and sport and in developing the skills and confidence of the student. The school aims to nurture the moral, spiritual, cultural and physical development of each individual to her or his full potential. The family, as the primary educator, shares responsibility for the students’ education by supporting the values and ethos of the school. Since 1918 St. Gerard's has been providing an education for children from all over Ireland and from overseas. St. Gerard's is considered one of Ireland's most prestigious and expensive fee-paying second-level institutions and many of it current students and alumni are members of Ireland's wealthiest families. The school has also been responsible for educating members of the Spanish Royal Family.
