Organic Trust Butcher's. Beef, lamb, pork & chicken sourced from our own @Drumanilra Organic Farm & other local organic farms. Artisan Deli & Bakery too. Lough Key Farm Shop is a family-run organic butcher's shop and artisan deli in Boyle, Co. Roscommon, owned by Liam & Justina Gavin.
Certified by the Organic Trust Ltd, our traditional butcher's counter stocks meat sourced from our own Drumanilra Organic Farm and a handful of other like-minded organic producers.  Drumanilra Organic Farm (www.facebook.com/drumanilra) is a small mixed farm on the shores of Lough Key, specialising in Dexter cattle, and also rearing rarebreed, outdoor organic pigs, rarebreed sheep, hens, turkeys & geese.  Our animals are processed in a small, local, Organic Trust inspected abattoir.
Our beef animals are hand-picked from our own Dexter herd and from John Cullen's organic Angus herd in Frenchpark.  Both breeds are beef breeds renowned for their superior flavour, texture and marbling.  Our beef is hung for a minimum of 21 days and prepared for sale by our master butcher in the Farm Shop.  Our Dexter and Angus Beef Burgers are something of a speciality and maybe purchased in the Lough Key Farm Shop or sampled at our award-winning gourmet burger bar just a few hundred metres away at the Drumanilra Farm Kitchen on Elphin Street.
Our pork is organic & freerange.  We make our own sausages and hand cure our rashers and hams to a traditional, organic dry-cure recipe.

Our organic lamb is slow-grown, grassfed and packed with flavour.
All organic animals are reared on grass and feed certified free of GM ingredients and grown without synthetic pesticides, fungicides & fertilisers.
In addition to our meats, we sell our own organic eggs from the farm and mixed salad bags grown in our polytunnels.   We have a small Deli section show-casing other Irish artisan producers and organic food including a range of cheeses, olives, chutneys, jams & honey, brown bread, french breads, organic wheat & spelt flour breads, and homebaked scones and cakes.  We hope you'll pay us a visit!

!! LOUGH KEY FARM SHOP RELOCATION !! Over the coming months, the Lough Key Farm Shop will be relocating from Bridge Street to the Drumanilra Farm Kitchen site on Elphin Street in Boyle. We are excited to be bringing our farm shop and farm kitchen under one roof. The Farm Kitchen serves organic food produced on our farm with locally roasted barista coffee and speciality teas. We have in-door and out-door seating, kids' play area and ample customer parking and now you can shop for our farm produce while you visit too! As many of our regular customers know, the Lough Key Farm Shop on Bridge Street closed on the 2nd April after almost exactly a year at the site. We want to say a big thank you to all the customers who have supported the shop in its first year of trading. We would also like to say a big thank you to Rory T. Quinn, the Lough Key Farm Shop butcher. His skills and craftsmanship have been invaluable in the development of our organic products over this last year, from our handmade organic sausages to our traditional dry cure rashers and hams, and of course to our organic Dexter burgers. The relocation to the Farm Kitchen site will happen in stages: Drumanilra Organic Farm Produce, Breads and Home-Baking Our own-farmed mixed salad bags, organic eggs, freezer-packs of burgers, and vegetable seedlings, together with our locally baked brown breads, scones, madeleines and French breads (French bread available on Thursday and Saturdays only) will be available to buy from the Drumanilra Farm Kitchen on Elphin Street, Boyle from 5th April onwards. Fresh Organic Meat & Deli Products We will be carrying out some renovation works at the Farm Kitchen site over the coming weeks to create a retail space for our tray packs of organic burgers, sausages, dry cure rashers and hams, Dexter steaks and whole chickens. The retail space will also show-case our own-grown salads, eggs and locally baked goods, together with our Irish farmhouse cheese and olive ranges, and carry an organic vegetable selection. We are currently developing a website for the online ordering of Drumanilra Farm organic meatboxes which can be couriered anywhere in the country. Keep an eye on the Drumanilra page for opening and launch dates or sign up for text notifications by texting "TEXT ME" to 0831484469. Organic Butchery A longer-term project is under way to re-open our full organic meat counter and processing unit at the Farm Kitchen site. Again, keep an eye on the Drumanilra page for updates on the progress of this project. We hope you will bear with us during this transition stage of our farm’s journey and would like to thank, once again, all those who have supported us so far along the way.

Spring must be springing! With the longer days and spell of bright weather, our little flock of freerange pure bred hens have decided it's time to get busy after their Winter break and have gone into egg production over-drive! We have an eggcellent(!) special offer on our organic free range eggs this week at €5 per dozen (normally 6 for €3). If you haven't tried organic eggs before, try cracking one alongside a supermarket egg - you'll notice a much brighter yellow yolk, sturdy shell and an egg that holds together really well for poaching or frying. Pick some up at the Lough Key Farm Shop or the Drumanilra Farm Kitchen. Once you've tried them, we don't think you'll ever go back to factory farmed eggs and that's no yolk!
