Search and Recovery
Sport Scuba Diving Athlone Sub-Aqua club takes on new members each November and trains them in the Athlone Regional Sports Centre swimming pool on Sunday mornings. Lectures take place on Sunday mornings in the clubhouse.
The club dives nearly all year round weather depending. During the summer months we can be found anywhere on the coast of Ireland. From Cork to Donegal and everywhere in between. During the winter we keep up our water fitness in Lough Ree and further afield.

Today club member Niall Mchugh rescued a dog from the Old Athlone canal close to Dooleys florist. A small dog fell into the water. Despite attempts to aid the dog the owners were unable to help. A call went out to club members and Niall promptly responded. Niall entered the water and rescued the dog. There doesn't seem to be any lasting issues with the dog.
Athlone Triathlon Club
A big thank you to Athlone Triathlon Club who jumped into Coosan Point yesterday in Aid of Athlone Sub-Aqua Club. Well done. I dont know if much swimming took place but everyone got nice and cold and wet!
Athlone Tri-Club Plunge
Athlone Triathlon Club are taking to the cold waters of Coosan Point tomorrow in aid of Athlone Sub-Aqua Club. We hope it is a little warmer than ours. Best of luck and thanks for your support.
