Good morning and Happy New Year from The Ashbourne Men’s Shed! Here’s to a great 2018, our drop in Centre opens today from 10.30am to 1pm. Make it your New Years resolution to visit and join us for some tea/coffee, a few bars stolen from some poor grandchildren’s selections box and a bits of craic! Planning for the work shop and allotment to take place soon too so watch this space! We are located in the prefab beside the parish office on Frederick St.

Tomorrow morning at 10.30am Ashbourne Men’s Shed will host a regional Cluster meeting in the Parish Hall, Frederick St. among the topics being discussed is how we can make Sheds stronger and sustainable in the future. We will be welcoming shedders from around the north east and all are welcome! We will have the airship Heart foundation mobile bus on site giving a FREE heart pressure test and to see if some shedders actually have a heart 🤣🤣🤣 head down for a cuppa and a bit of craic as always. Tomorrow from 4.30-8pm you can also give blood at the Ashbourne House hotel.

Ashbourne Men’s Shed scooped the Ashbourne Municipal Districts “Grow it Yourself” award at the Pride of Place awards last Thursday night. The allotment is located on the Curragha/Ratoath road. Pictured are green fingers Eamonn Keenan and Paddy Gorman aka Gerry Daly. The award and €300 was presented by Municipal Cathaoirleach Cllr Sean Smith, also in the photo are Ashbourne Men’s Shed Treasurer Noel Curtain and newly appointed IMSA Director Alan Tobin. If you can get your hands on this weeks Farmers Journal there is a fantastic 32 page supplement on Men’s Sheds throughout the country that now number over 400 in villages, towns and cities throughout the island of Ireland.
