Glenart College Beauty Therapy Department was represented at the highest level in Beauty Therapy on Saturday last by Course Coordinator Dorothy Lawlor, who attended the general assembly of the 64th CIDESCO World Congress, to represent Ireland with her colleagues Mary O Donohue and Sheila Curran (pictured below). It was such an honour to be asked to represent Ireland at the highest level of the CIDESCO world congress, with my two esteemed colleagues.

Many thanks to the Marie Keating Foundation for a really informative talk on Cancer today to the 1st & 2nd year Beauty Therapy students. The nurse went through how to recognize early symptoms and also how to try to help, through lifestyle, cancer becoming a problem. All of our therapists there today were delighted with the information given by a specialized nurse in relation to when we as therapists can treat clients who have cancer safely and when it is best for the patient not to be treated by us as therapists in relation to massage and other treatments. Again many thanks to the Marie Keating Foundation. http://www.mariekeating.ie
